As said before, it’s history dates back to BC 6.000. Ephesus was an important city for all the civilizations it hosted. It’s thought that Ephesus was first founded by some women warriors and its name was Arzawa which means the city of the Goddess. Though there is no certain information about that time. With the prince of Athens, Androklos, the city became more important and got stronger. When the King of Pergamon, Attolos, gave the Ephesus to the Romans as a part of his heritage, it became the most important trade centre of the region. In 1304, Ephesus became a Turkish city.
